Top Consumer Credit Manager plans and directs all aspects of an organization's consumer credit activities. Manages and leads the consumer credit underwriting function for a central processing unit. Additionally, Top Consumer Credit Manager typically reports to top management. The Top Consumer Credit Manager manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Top Consumer Credit Manager typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for underwriting consumer loans. You will make quality lending decisions by analyzing applicants’ credit worthiness and factoring in the character, capacity, and collateral of each borrower, while supporting the organization’s growth goals and fostering relationships with our members.
*This position is ON-SITE and includes working one Saturday per month.
What We’re Looking For (Qualifications):- 1-3 years of consumer lending experience, preferably in a financial institution
- Underwriting experience is strongly desired
- Strong listening skills and verbal and written communication skills
- Must have flexible availability, including Saturdays (typically one per month)

- Receive loan applications from central queue and underwrite accordingly
- Analyze current financial position of prospective borrowers to determine degree of risk
- Make lending decisions within credit union policies and guidelines
- Establish terms and conditions of approved loans
- Contact loan applicant if necessary for clarification or concerns
- Search for additional outstanding loan prospects during underwriting process
- Effectively sell credit union products and services according to member needs
- Provide support and backup to all team members in the Lending department

Poughkeepsie (/pəˈkɪpsi/ pə-KIP-see), officially the City of Poughkeepsie, is a city in the state of New York, United States, which is the county seat of Dutchess County.
