Consumer Lending Compliance Analyst

  • Overview

    A consumer lending compliance anaylyst performs consumer compliance audits to ensure that Credit Union team members are performing loan and new account duties in accordance with applicable state and federal laws, rules, regulations and Credit Union policy and procedure.

    Responsibilities

    • Complete consumer, HELOC and indirect loan account audits for Credit Union team members.
    • Provide monitoring and analysis of consumer credit risk for both organic and acquired portfolio, prepare related management reports and provide insights on root causes and emerging credit trends.
    • Assist with and perform business line deep dive analysis and monitoring to drive credit policy optimization and risk mitigant strategies.
    • Review Credit Union policies and procedures based on management request, regulatory changes, internal audits, and examinations by regulatory agencies; offer suggestions for changes as needed
    • Assist with training of Credit Union team members with consumer policy and procedural guidance.
    • Assist with implementation of changes to existing policy and procedures as mandated.
    • Conduct research to answer regulatory-related questions asked by management and Credit Union departments as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. 0-3 years’ experience with consumer lending or processing experience preferred. Ability to review low to medium complexity loan files. Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities. Ability to work with and communicate with all Credit Union personnel in the various departments. Ability to always maintain confidentiality of Credit Union and member records.

     

    Performance Standard:

    Demonstrated cooperative and positive attitude toward members and other Credit Union staff. Accurate in balancing and account research. Be able to diagnose problems. Professional in appearance, attendance, quality, and quantity of work performed. Ability to work without supervision. Must be willing to comply with the Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act as implemented by Idaho Central Credit Union.

     

    Physical Requirements:

    • Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (processing paperwork, filing, stapling, sorting, collating, typing, counting cash, etc.).
    • Sit for extended periods of time.
    • Lift 20-40 pounds of applicable supplies including but not limited to copy paper, cash drawers, marketing material, etc.
    • Repetitive motion using wrists, hands, and fingers.
    • Reach keyboards.
    • Ability to operate basic office machines (calculator, computer, telephone, copy machine, fax machine, etc.).
