POSITION SUMMARY
Contributes to the organization by being responsible for the fitting of all soft and gas permeable contact lenses, ordering and delivery of contact lenses. The Contact Lens Fitter is also responsible for adhering to current departmental policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for sterility of lenses and compliance with OSHA standards.
Responsible for inventory and stock of lenses. Fitters or head fitters are not authorized to purchase or order a trial case, lenses or supplies other than patient lenses. Any purchases, other than patient lenses have to be authorized by the contact lens director.
Entering patients specifications in the computer, correct codes, charges and if pertinent, discounts, for all lenses and supplies.
Train patients in insertion and removal of lenses.
Responsible for returns and exchanges.
All other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE Four or more years recent contact lens fitting experience under the direction of a licensed Optician, Optometrist or Ophthalmologist.
