  • Position Overview


    The Executive Director of PRT Contracts will provide functional management and process oversight to the contracting and regulatory filing work required to support our North American Pension Risk Transfer Business for the Global Financial Solutions division of RGA. Utilizes knowledge, experience, and application of best practices to drive the creation of legal contracts for the pension risk transfer line of business. This role requires a high attention to detail, strong project management skills, and will be expected to build a team of associates to support the ongoing growth of the pension risk transfer line of business.


    Responsibilities

    • Manages the writing, executing and distributing of Pension Risk Transfer transaction documents which embody client and RGA business objectives. This includes:
      • Initiate drafts of contracts review with deal teams
      • Maintain and manage contract standard templates
      • Manage efficient version control during review and negotiation
      • Partner with corporate partners and SME’s to draft language that addresses specific business or legal needs or for compliance with applicable insurance laws and regulations
      • Independently identify and ensure necessary reviewers are kept apprised of modifications and requests for changes
      • Provide advice and recommendations on the ideal legal document structure and on the most appropriate way to incorporate comments/issues raised by client companies and internal RGA Associates
      • Obtain all necessary signatures for legal documents and support any necessary approval documentation to signatories prior to their sign off
      • Maintain appropriate archive of all GFS legal documents
    • Prepare, coordinate, analyze, diagnose and resolve issues, and manage the submission process for PRT state contract filings
    • Facilitate legal review of new Non-Disclosure Agreements related to PRT business
    • Enhance PRT Process to more efficiently manage deal flow and time constraints
    • Understand and apply all applicable GFS and RGA legal standards and operates as quality control for documents at all stages of the deal process
    • Exercises judgement to solve complex problems and ensure all necessary functions have participated in the delivery of final execution versions of the document prior to execution
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Requirements


    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field
    • 7 years of contract, legal or pension risk transfer experience
    • Advanced understanding of pension regulation
    • Knowledge of pension risk transfer industry, reinsurance market, and insurance law.

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Ability to understand and negotiate RGA and client business objectives, governing laws and regulations in order to design legal contracts
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication and organizational skills
    • Expert ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a high pressure work environment
    • Expert ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional and technical disciplines
    • Legal background; understanding of pension, reinsurance, and/or insurance regulation
    • Customer service focus
    • Exceptional attention to detail
    • Ability to navigate a matrix organization, work independently and across a global organization
    • Ability to demonstrate thought leadership within their area of expertise

    RGA offers a comprehensive total rewards package including a range benefits and flexible plans. The pay range for this position is $120,375 – $179,365 per year in addition to an annual bonus. Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location.
