Top Corporate Compliance Executive provides leadership and direction for an organization's compliance programs, policies, reporting, and practices. Ensures that all activities follow regulatory requirements related to the governance of the organization as well as any industry-specific or location-specific laws. Being a Top Corporate Compliance Executive oversees internal controls and auditing systems that monitor and report on regulated activities and processes. Develops risk-based compliance testing of existing procedures and controls to identify, detect, and correct noncompliance. Additionally, Top Corporate Compliance Executive evaluates and implements changes to compliance processes due to new or amended regulations. Establishes communication and training initiatives that inform stakeholders about compliance requirements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Top Corporate Compliance Executive manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. To be a Top Corporate Compliance Executive typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience.     About the Opportunity

    This is a position within FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.

    The position reports to the VP, Talent Management, and is located in Akron, Ohio.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Coordinate general office functions and providing multifaceted support to the VP, Talent Management, the HR leadership team and others within those departments
    • Maintain complex calendars on a daily basis
    • Handle sensitive and confidential materials and information
    • Maintain a well-organized filing system for key department materials and reports (electronic and hard copy)
    • Perform various general office duties involving word processing, record and file maintenance, scheduling meetings and conference calls, mail distribution, receiving and directing visitors and telephone reception
    • Maintain office supplies for Akron HR office location
    • Coordinate necessary activities regarding office equipment at office location for Akron HR office location
    • Manage and maintain HR-related email distribution lists
    • Process Giftogram recognition requests
    • Schedule travel arrangements
    • Coordinate meetings and training events
    • Prepare and process timesheets and expense reports
    • Create purchase requisitions or POs and process invoices using Coupa
    • Interact with third party vendors as part of purchasing activities or event planning
    • Prepare correspondence and presentations; develop and maintain databases and spreadsheets
    • Demonstrate a solid commitment to all aspects of safety including maintaining a safe workplace for coworkers
    • Independently anticipate and provide excellent quality service to meet internal and external customer needs
    • Use excellent communication skills with good judgment
    • Consistently anticipate needs and deliver results
    • Carry out and assist with other duties and responsibilities as assigned

    Qualifications include:

    • High school diploma or GED required, advanced academic credentials are a plus
    • Minimum 5 years work experience required. Previous experience providing support to an executive preferred
    • Must pass company Support and Administrative Selection System (SASS) test
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
    • Must have the ability to deliver quality, accurate work within established deadlines
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to independently prioritize workloads, meet deadlines and work in pressure situations
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, yet maintain a continued focus on the details required to perform the essential functions of the job
    • Well-organized and extremely detail oriented
