Top Corporate Compliance Executive provides leadership and direction for an organization's compliance programs, policies, reporting, and practices. Ensures that all activities follow regulatory requirements related to the governance of the organization as well as any industry-specific or location-specific laws. Being a Top Corporate Compliance Executive oversees internal controls and auditing systems that monitor and report on regulated activities and processes. Develops risk-based compliance testing of existing procedures and controls to identify, detect, and correct noncompliance. Additionally, Top Corporate Compliance Executive evaluates and implements changes to compliance processes due to new or amended regulations. Establishes communication and training initiatives that inform stakeholders about compliance requirements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Top Corporate Compliance Executive manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. To be a Top Corporate Compliance Executive typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience.   • Overview: 

    The Corporate Controller will oversee the Company's external and internal reporting requirements, preparation of financial results, internal controls and the company’s accounting requirements, including corporate accounting policies, technical GAAP research and external audit oversight. This individual will manage all efforts ensuring the appropriate internal controls are in place and will take the lead role in attaining and maintaining compliance with best practices.   

     

    What You'll Do: 

    • Responsible for a wide range of financial activity in the organization with respect to accounting functions and related activities at the global level.
    • Directs all aspects of accounting, including, but not limited to, general accounting, credit and collections, accounts receivable, accounts payable, account reconciliation, budget preparation, cash and banking, and the preparation of consolidated financial statements and related reports.
    • Formulate and recommend policies on receipt and disbursement of funds, extension of credit, and fiscal and accounting matters.
    • Develop standard accounting, analysis and reporting procedures and is responsible for the execution of overall financial controls.
    • Manage and protect the Company’s financial and capital assets.
    • Ensure that the financial reporting and policies are consistently maintained in accordance with GAAP and local statutory requirements as well as the requirements of other applicable regulatory bodies.
    • Prepare external communications to accurately reflect business results, meeting the standards of transparency, and meeting all external reporting requirements.
    • Actively and effectively manage the external audit and tax relationship.
    • Provide value-added financial reporting and analysis to support the Chief Financial Officer and other corporate and operating leaders and their staff to help them make sound financial and operational decisions, consistent with corporate objectives. This will include guidance on GAAP and other authoritative rules and regulations.
    • Apply a combination of broad managerial skills, business analytics and technical knowledge to negotiate, acquire, and deploy systems and services that improve the effectiveness and efficiencies of accounting functions across the enterprise.
    • Monitor all relevant technology and competitive threats, trends, risks, and opportunities for the corporation and act as a visionary to define the direction for future “best-in-class” accounting methodologies and solutions.
    • Anticipate internal and external reporting changes and business requirements to ensure processes, organization and financial systems appropriately evolve to support the business. This includes staying current on accounting and reporting literature to evaluate and communicate its implications to management.
    • Lead and develop a strong accounting staff. Provide a high performance culture characterized by teamwork, high morale, efficiency, productivity, innovation and continually measureable improvement.
    • Train, develop, coach and mentor the accounting staff and prepare evaluations and approve pay increases, hiring decisions and disciplinary actions.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer.
    • Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job.

     

    What You'll Need:                                        

    • An undergraduate degree is required. An MBA is highly desired. Active CPA designation is highly desired.
    • At least fifteen years of relevant experience in positions of increasing responsibility within a respected organization of similar scale and dynamics.
    • At least three to five years of experience at a Controller level position which included external reporting and financial oversight responsibilities.
    • Expert knowledge of GAAP requirements and accounting functions and internal controls is required.
    • Specific experience dealing with accounting functions in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
    • Outstanding operations and systems skills, and proven ability to quickly analyze rapidly changing circumstances and provide sound financial advice.
    • Demonstrated high level of competency in the execution of a wide range of projects and deployment of best practices in a world class manufacturing environment, competency in strategic thinking and leadership with strong abilities in relationship management with customers, vendors and employees at all levels.
    • Proven ability to lead and motivate a multi-functional staff.
    • Previous work experience in audit or consulting with a major public accounting/audit firm is preferred.
    • International and multi-location accounting experience a plus.
    • Must be an effective change agent with strong strategic vision and the interpersonal and team building skills.
    • Experience with an SAP ERP environment a plus.
    • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills and have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
