    Responsibilities

    The Compliance Specialist assists with the monitoring, implementation and evaluation of processes and programs to meet regulatory, accreditation and standards of practice. The Compliance Specialist is responsible for 1) assisting and supporting an effective compliance program related to regulatory and clinical reimbursement business functions; 2) promoting compliance with corporate and departmental standards, policies, and procedures; 3) assisting in creating, monitoring, and reinforcing procedures to reduce areas of risk.

     

     

    Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

     

  • Responsible for assisting with the implementation and monitoring of the organization’s compliance program.
  • Assists the director of compliance in ensuring processes to develop, monitor, and evaluate compliance work plan initiatives.
  • Collaborates with Clinical Services, Sales and Marketing, Revenue Cycle Management, and Operations to promote and ensure employee orientation, competency, and in-service education programs.
  • Assists in monitoring organization compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Monitors and updates standard operating procedures and policies to be consistent with regulatory changes and clinical and operational standards of practice.
  • Acts as a compliance resource to personnel.
  • Assists in developing and conducting risk assessments of the company business practices to determine areas of exposure and implementing remedial and mitigation solutions.
  • Conducts and/ or assists in the investigation and resolution of compliance issues, including potential violations as required.
  • Prepares compliance reports as required.
  • Promotes adherence to applicable legal requirements, standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Adheres to established confidentiality and HIPAA Standards
  • Fosters a climate which encourages employees to bring forth issues without fear of retaliation.
  • Properly reports concerns and suspected incidences of non-compliance.
  • Ensures timely and accurate reporting and responses to compliance-related issues and assists monitoring the implementation of corrective action plans related to such issues.
  • Develops all necessary training programs, training materials and implementation schedule in support of compliance initiatives.
  • Builds relationships with others based on mutual trust and understanding. Maintains appropriate relationships and rapport with staff, co-workers and management.
  • Adheres to the company attendance and reliability guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Is self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.
    • Has excellent coordination and communication skills.
    • Computer literate: working knowledge of more than 2 years with Microsoft Excel, Work, PowerPoint
    • 5 years of job-related experience preferred.
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
