Top Diversity Executive plans and directs all aspects of an organization's diversity programs. Involved in recruiting, retaining, and training a talented, diverse workforce. Being a Top Diversity Executive studies, develops, and implements training programs to educate employees and offers support and knowledge. Stays abreast of changes in regulatory and market conditions that may affect the organization's diversity programs. Additionally, Top Diversity Executive makes any necessary changes or adjustments to ensure compliance and sensitivity to the needs of all employees. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to top management. The Top Diversity Executive manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. To be a Top Diversity Executive typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience. Under supervision, assist Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Coordinator with initiatives to support development, planning, promoting, implementation and evaluation of county diversity, equity, inclusion and engagement initiatives. Assist in policy and program research and creation of communication materials. Assist with planning and staff support for Diversity & Inclusion (D & I) Committee and Ambassadors and local cultural events planning, community engagement initiatives, and other forms of community dialogue. Update contact lists and assist with data collection and organization.
Ability to:
Enrollment in a post-secondary program such as international studies, human resource management, and public administration or a related field OR an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Special requirements: Valid driver’s license and insurable under County liability coverage. May also require use of personal transportation or equivalent for official business.
