JOB SUMMARY
This position plays a key role in the development, implementation, and administration of diversity and inclusion programs on campus for faculty, staff, and students. It serves as the primary advisor for several multicultural student organizations, creates and implements university-wide education and programming, interacts and engages alumni and community partners, and collaborates across the institution for recruitment, retention, and engagement of a multicultural population. The coordinator is expected to create innovative new programs and initiatives to engage a diverse and multicultural community.
MAJOR DUTIES
Create innovate new programs and initiatives to support and engage multicultural communities on campus.
Design and implement signature programs.
Provide university-wide education and training.
Provide outreach and administrative support, including web maintenance and marketing.
Advise student organizations and outreach to student communities.
Assist with recruitment, retention, and advancement efforts for historically underrepresented populations.
Work with Student Affairs staff to develop policies and procedures that uphold best practices.
Establish collaborative relationships with alumni and community partners
Develop and implement a strategic plan for the area that embodies the mission and values of Northeastern State.
Assess needs, services, and trainings for the institution, including interpreting and analyzing relevant climate, cultural competency, and other diversity-related data.
Maintain a visible presence at University and student events and programs.
This position requires the ability to be strategic, engaging, and tactical while delivering tangible results.
Serves on University committees.
Performs related duties.

COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK
The work consists of a broad scope of responsibilities. This person must evaluate and prioritize multiple ongoing projects. Individual must interact with individuals both in and outside the university, including alumni and community partners.
The purpose of this position is to ensure educate and engage the university community along issues of equity, inclusion, justice, and diversity, to address university-wide needs and initiative, and to engage and support a multicultural student, faculty, and staff community, including partnering with multiple departments.
SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY
This position may periodically oversee student workers or graduate assistants, as needed and available.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in higher education or related field.
Previous experience in multicultural policy, programming, or education.
Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing university wide training, education, and policy development.
Experience advising multicultural student organizations.
Previous experience in assessment practices.
Annual salary $39,252.00.00 with excellent benefits and generous time off.
