Manager of Campus Diversity and Inclusion.

The Manager of Campus Diversity and Inclusion (MCDI), working for the Vice President of Institutional Transformation (VPIT), will be responsible for supporting the VPIT in creating and helping implement an integrated diversity and inclusion strategy for the University. This includes researching, developing, recommending, and executing creative strategies to foster the University's goals. This position will assist in: developing communication plans; monitoring progress on University diversity targets; and addressing gaps or barriers to progress. The incumbent will also advise the VPIT on all aspects of faculty, student, and staff diversity at the University; assist in the development of a cohesive "Diversity Supplier Program" working with senior management; review trends in higher education and business; and identify best practices that should be employed at Notre Dame. This position will be tasked with building external and internal partnerships that will support university-wide diversity initiatives at Notre Dame; and will require an individual with executive presence, who possesses strong communications skills and the ability to advocate effectively for both strategies and initiatives necessary to enhance diversity and inclusion. The ability to collaborate across various campus units with a wide array of constituents in order to execute meaningful initiatives for change is an imperative.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree required
- 7 years of experience working in academia understanding the academic landscape with areas related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
- Understanding the organization, excellent working relationships with senior leadership and proven ability to build networks and relationships.
- High energy individual that can build consensus and has proven track record working in major institution /corporations diversity and inclusion offices.
- Previous track record working in Human Resources and understanding of HR practices and programs with emphasis on talent management, engagement, and recruiting.
- Must possess exceptional people skills.
