Division 9 Construction Estimator/Project Manager

    GTEC is hiring a self-motivated Division 9 Construction Estimator/Project Manager with experience coordinating multiple tasks at once. The successful candidate will bid then run projects from the office and on-site to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget. He/she will coordinate with Division 9 trades, as necessary, to ensure every aspect of that portion of the project is running smoothly by use of predeveloped project schedules. We are looking for a creative and dedicated individual who will fit with our collaborative culture. The job requires some overtime hours, especially during spring, summer and fall months as well as traveling, including out of state.     Minimum Requirements:

    • Prior work experience on federal projects
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Strong work ethic and self-motivated to learn more
    • 10 years’ experience in project management for Division 9 Trades and construction estimating
    • Experience with project schedule development
    • Working knowledge of the following software:
      • Microsoft Office Productivity Suite
      • Microsoft Windows operating systems
    • Vehicle for transportation, travel will be required

    Responsibilities:

    • Review civil plans, architectural plans, and specifications for bidding and project management purposes
    • Prepare estimates and bid proposals for Division 9 Trades
    • Run project pre-construction meetings
    • Facilitate weekly or bi-monthly project team meetings
    • Delegate project tasks, based on subcontractor agreements in place and project schedules
    • Meet budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis
    • Perform substantial completion and final walk-through inspections with contractors
    • Develop punch-lists
    • Administer close-out documents
    • Continued education in the most current building codes, leadership skills, and construction safety laws
    • There will be travel to jobs around Michigan, as well as out of state
