Job Summary:
The Assistant Director of Human Resources is responsible for ensuring that Eihab- NJ is in good standing and complete compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding staff employment, training, and personnel policies at all times. S/he maintains, and supports effective human resources and compliance systems while administering outstanding customer service to Eihab staff. The Assistant Director of Human Resources plays a critical role in shaping Eihab’s organizational culture and ensuring that our employees' policies and practices align with our values. The ideal candidate for this role has a strong working knowledge of human resource systems and can utilize this in thinking strategically about the systems and policies we currently have in place.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
· Oversee and assist with the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources and Training Department.
· Coaches and consults senior management on succession planning and other strategic HR issues.
· Assist with employee relations; researches/investigates and conducts interventions/mediations to resolve conflicts, gain cooperation, and reach consensus among the staff; analyze and recommends constructive solutions to performances/personal issues.
· Fosters and maintains a working environment conducive to positive moral, quality, and teamwork.
· Provides advice and direction to Directors/Managers on training requirements, standards of performance and makes recommendations and approves employment disciplinary actions.
· Answers any questions and requests by governmental agencies including employee complaints.
· Represents the agency at unemployment hearings as required.
· Provides analytical reports and administrative support to the Director of Human Resources and VPs.
· Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations, etc)
· Ensures employee records are complete and accurate
· Coordinates HR projects (meetings, training, surveys, etc) and takes minutes
· Assist with employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations.
· Oversee the recruitment and hiring process to include orientation and full cycle onboarding
· Provides training and guidance to local human resource and training team(s).
· Assess and make suggestions for improvement of the performance management system.
· Supports Eihab’s Mission and Vision’ to attain strategic objectives.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Exceptional analytical, interpersonal, managerial, and problem-solving skills
· Thorough understanding of HR policies, practices, and procedures
· Excellent ability to lead and manage a team
· Strong skills in Computers, working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and Google.
· Knowledge of Federal and State Labor Laws.
