This position works under the general supervision of the Medical Records Director with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Uploading all Transfer sheets for individuals being transferred between centers. Helping in uploading consents, correspondence, Uploads Authorizations for obtaining records, keeps an updated spreadsheet, or records that are obtained or sent to Helen Farabee Center. Processes Authorizations for obtaining records. Responds to email requests for obtaining records from outside entities. Requests records from Red River Hospital via email and keeps an updated spreadsheet when records are received as well as uploads RRH records into the EMR. Uploads records obtained by outside facilities into the EMR. Uploads and shreds retention. Makes corrections or deletes documents in the EMR that need correction or have met retention. Will perform general office duties including but not limited to answering phones, distributing mail, operation of office machines, filing and general task follow through. Reassignment is a condition of employment that may occur at the employer’s discretion. Work location and hours could be based on program needs. Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a backup capacity for specific tasks in the Medical Records department or assigned by the Medical Records Director. Education, Training, and Experience
Must be high school graduate or GED, one-year medical records experience preferred. Must have valid driver’s license and be insurable to drive Center vehicles. Must pass and maintain all Center mandate trainings and all trainings required for certification.
