Top Division Legal Executive plans and directs all aspects of a division's legal affairs. Ensures all division policies and activities are managed correctly and in compliance with current laws. Being a Top Division Legal Executive provides strategic guidance on legal issues, manages compliance and risk mitigation, reviews contracts, and handles other legal duties to protect the organization's interests. Uses a broad range of legal expertise and current knowledge to advise leadership on any regulatory changes or actions that may impact the business. Additionally, Top Division Legal Executive requires a JD. Requires State Bar membership. Typically reports to top legal executive. The Top Division Legal Executive manages a business unit, division, or corporate function with major organizational impact. Establishes overall direction and strategic initiatives for the given major function or line of business. Providing legal representation to clients in civil matters such as family, housing, consumer, income maintenance and other civil matters;
Other responsibilities include but not limited to reviewing and supervising work product of support staff, circuit riding when required;
Graduate of an accredited law school;
Have demonstrable interest in the area of poverty law and working with low income persons;
Perform other related tasks as required. Be admitted to practice law in the State of Mississippi.
