Qualifications:

• Strong working knowledge of inventory planning, forecasting techniques, operational systems, and warehouse management.
• Inquisitive, detail-oriented with strong quantitative analytical skills and an innovative approach to problem-solving.
• Excellent ERP skills required.
• Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Procurement/Acquisitions, or similar (a plus).
• Familiarity with metal fabrication vendors and negotiation skills for timely procurement.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure on-time delivery of materials, negotiating and coordinating with metal material vendors.
• Collaborate with counterparts in Design, Sourcing, Product Development, Sales, Production, and Warehouse to align activities in supporting customer deadlines.
• Work closely with Engineering and Estimating for product development, sourcing new products that support budgetary needs.
• Identify vendor opportunities and challenges, ensuring appropriate resolutions to any issues that may arise.
• Collaborate with Inventory Management to ensure accurate forecasting and inventory planning.
• Continually review and improve purchasing processes for efficiency and accuracy.
• Develop and maintain a high-performance culture to enhance customer service levels.
• Identify and develop key talent within the department through training and goal setting.
• Manage tactical operations of the purchasing function & staff to achieve company objectives.
• Develop and maintain strong business relationships within the industry to strengthen the vendor base and expand the supplier network.
• Assure purchases are made according to budgetary and other policies.
