    Position Purpose

    The Executive Director of Operations is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of operational activities within transportation, food service, Information Technology, and Safety departments. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Administrator, the Executive Director of Operations plays a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, optimizing efficiency, and ensuring alignment with strategic goals and objectives. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, strategic vision, and a proven track record of successful operational management.

    Job Duties

    • Upholds CECs beliefs found on the CEC website.
    • Develops, implements, and monitors day-to-day operational systems and processes that provide visibility into goals, progress, and obstacles for CECs key initiatives.
    • Builds and maintains relationships with Operations staff, CEC leadership, department heads, and external partners and vendors regarding operational activities and strategic goals.
    • Plans, monitors, and analyzes key metrics for the day-to-day performance of CECs Operations departments to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks.
    • Develops strategies to ensure growth of programs by identifying and implementing process improvements that will maximize output and minimize costs.
    • Develop and implement strategic plans, objectives, and initiatives to drive operational excellence and support organizational growth and sustainability.
    • Collaborate with executive leadership team to align operational activities with overall business strategies and priorities.
    • Upholds CEC policies and procedures, and ensures federal, state, and local legislation is followed.
    • Attends related meetings and professional development as requested by the CEA.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization across all areas of operations, implementing best practices and innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Lead cross-functional teams to streamline workflows, reduce costs, and improve operational performance.
    • Allocate resources effectively and efficiently to support operational needs and strategic priorities.
    • Manage operational budgets, forecasts, and expenditures, ensuring fiscal responsibility and adherence to financial targets.
    • Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to operational teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
    • Recruit, train, and develop talented individuals to build high-performing teams capable of achieving organizational goals.
    • Ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, maintaining the highest standards of ethical conduct and corporate governance.
    • Collaborate and present updates to Board of Directors as requested by CEA.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    • Demonstrated ability to drive change, implement process improvements, and achieve operational objectives.
    • Proficiency in operational management principles, practices, and tools.
