Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Treasurer to join our team. As the Treasurer, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of our organization. This is a key leadership role that requires strong financial acumen and the ability to effectively manage financial operations.
Under the direction and supervision of the Village Administrator, the Village Treasurer is responsible for the collection, receipt, and deposit of all Village funds, in accordance with Wisconsin State Statutes and the Village of Winneconne ordinances.
Duties
- Manage and oversee the organization's financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Perform general ledger reconciliation to ensure accurate financial records
- Prepare and analyze financial reports for management and stakeholders
- Conduct regulatory reporting to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes and executes daily finance activities
- Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Provide strategic financial guidance to the executive team
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting with 5 years' experience, CPA preferred
- Proven experience in treasury or finance roles, preferably in a leadership capacity
- Strong knowledge of financial systems such as Workhorse and other accounting software
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data, knowledge of GAPP and GASB standards
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to financial reporting
- Experience in municipal accounting is a preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial record keeping
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
