WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR:Our drilling crews collect soil and rock samples that provide site informationused byour geotechnicalengineers when designing new roads, bridges, and buildings. We have an opening for a Drilling Assistantto assist with drilling operations in the surrounding area. In this role, youll operate vehicles and drilling equipment to obtain samples, record test locations/soil type,install monitoring wells, and seal boreholes while prioritizing safety and client relationships. Candidates should enjoy working outdoors in varied weather conditions and have a comfort level with equipment maintenance. Training for the positionis provided, though a background in soil science, geology,orearth science is helpful.IN THIS JOB, YOU WILL:
- Set up equipment andassist in the operation ofthe drill rig in a safe manner
- Work withthecrew chief to operate drilling equipment, install monitoring wells,collect samples, prepare field logs, and restorethesiteto nearly its previous condition.
- Maintain equipment and troubleshoot as needed
- Communicate withclients andAET project managersfor smooth and successful projects
REQUIREDEDUCATION ANDEXPERIENCE- HS diploma or GED
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record (CDL preferred but not required)
- Capable of the physical labor required including work at hazardous waste sites, with personal protective equipment
- Mechanicalaptitude
