Employment Law Attorney for Economic Justice
The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland is looking for an employment law attorney with experience litigating wage theft and/or employment discrimination cases to join the “Work Team” within our Economic Justice practice group. Work team members also handle unemployment compensation and some “barriers to employment” (e.g. criminal record sealing) matters. In addition, all Legal Aid attorneys are expected to engage in community education/outreach and systemic advocacy efforts.

The Successful Candidates will:
- Be committed to Legal Aid’s mission.
- Hold a JD and be licensed to practice law in Ohio or eligible to waive in or sit for the next bar.
- Have experience in legal aid or a nonprofit environment (strongly preferred).
- Have working knowledge of state and federal law related to Legal Aid’s clients.
- Exhibit outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
- Have experience collaborating with other (non-legal) professions preferred.
- Have excellent research, writing and advocacy skills.
- Have strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Have excellent team- and partnership-building skills.
- Be organized, able to plan and problem-solve, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure.
- Be willing to attend partnership meetings and events outside normal business hours.
- Spanish language skills preferred.

Compensation & Benefits: The salary range for Staff Attorney is $72,000 to $108,000 and the salary range for Senior Attorney is $81,000 to $121,000. The top third of Legal Aid’s salary ranges are reserved for those with deep skill sets, long tenure, and consistent exceptional performance.
