The city of Susanville, in partnership with the Susanville Indian Rancheria, is excited to offer its first Economic Development Director position. This unique opportunity will provide the successful candidate with an opportunity to build an economic development program in close partnership with local governments, including the sovereign nation that is the Susanville Indian Rancheria.
Minimum qualifications include possession of a valid Class C California driver's license at the time of appointment and graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, planning, economics, finance, or a closely related field with major course work in economic or community development. Preferred qualifications include any education or experience equivalent to: Five (5) years of extensive and progressively responsible experience in community development, economic development, redevelopment, planning, real property, or finance, preferably in the public sector, and at least two (2) years of management experience working with senior administrators on significant economic development projects. A master’s degree in business or public administration, economic development, community development, economics, finance, planning, or a closely related field is highly desirable.
The starting salary will be based on the qualifications of the selected candidate. The current salary range for the Economic Development Director position is $106,480.66 - $149,828.90. CalPERS retirement, generous medical, dental, vision coverages and other excellent benefits are also provided by the city of Susanville.
