    Responsibility:

    The Employee Relations Specialist will have exceptional interpersonal skills. They will be responsible for collecting and analyzing employee data, organizing, and updating employee files, and overseeing employee orientation and training, among other duties.

    Moreover, the Employee Relations Specialist will need to have extensive knowledge of employment law and always adhere to company and industry regulations.

    Purpose:

    Provide support to the HR Manager by being involved with all HR functions, especially staff interactions and relations.

    Essential Functions:

    • Offering assistance & advice to employees.
    • Participating in recruitment and termination of employment processes.
    • Performing employee background checks and verifying information.
    • Communicating policies pertaining to Human Resources, compensation, and benefits.
    • Conducting exit interviews.
    • Collecting and analyzing employee data.
    • Using data to create employee profiles.
    • Organizing and updating employee files.
    • Adhering to regulatory standards.
    • Representing the company at job fairs and college campuses.
    • Overseeing employee orientation and training.
    • Laison between employees and management.
    • Managing employee complaints.
    • Undertaking communications and interpersonal skills training for employees.
    • Send new hires Criminal Background Check, drug screen invites.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience

    • Degree in Human Resources, Employee Relations, or Business Administration and / or equivalent experience.
    • 2 years’ experience in HR with a degree or 4 years without

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Desire to learn employee benefits, HR best practices and legal compliance.
    • Written and oral communication skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
    • Maintain confidentiality.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of employment law.
    • Outstanding interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Good problem-solving ability.

    Licenses, Certificates, and Other Requirements

    • SHRM certification a plus but not required.

    Lifting Requirements

    • Sedentary work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
