    JBS Live Pork, LLChas an opportunity available for anEnvironmental Health and Safety Manager in the Dalhart, TX / Colorado Region.

    This role will provide support involving environmental health & safety for JBS locations. The Environmental Health and Safety Manager Position reports directly to theJBS Live Pork EHS Director and will work closely with all site personnel and leadership, to ensure site compliance with OSHA and EPA requirements as well as adherence to all company and site policies and procedures.

    The main goal of the Environmental Health & Safety supervisor will be to ensure a safe working environment to prevent injuries and accidents. The Environmental Health & Safety Manager will be responsible to support the strategy and vision of the EH&S Director and be able to provide the following responsibilities

    Responsibilities:
    • Assist local leadership teams to ensure compliance to safety and environmental regulatory requirements as they relate to: permitting, program review, training, inspections, incident management and follow up, workers’ compensation oversight, recordkeeping and documentation control
    • Act as the technical expert for safety, environmental, training, health and ergonomics issues
    • Assist in completion and evaluation of facility safety audits and inspections of personnel to assure compliance with program requirements
    • Work with local leadership in staff development as it relates to safety and environmental program requirements
    • Facilitate functional group meetings and other specialized meetings as need dictates
    • Provide assistance in incident management includingpatient care and follow-up actions, investigation, tracking and trending details for EHS events
    • Assist in the development of annual and long-term capital plans
    • Work with site leadership to assure MOC process is utilized for all capital requests and other changes to assure safety and environmental concerns are addressed
    • Provide in-field EHS support for employees and provide hazard awareness directly to site employees when necessary
    • Participate in follow up for all government inspections dealing with Safety or Environmental agencies
    • Work with consultants to assure compliance with regulatory requirements and follow up
    • Assist in annual review and update of standardized programs and policies to include: LOTO, Confined Space, Electrical Safety, Work at Heights, Emergency Evacuation
    • Any other responsibilities as assigned by the EHS Director.

    Travel: This position will require approximately 20 % overnight travel.

    Required Qualifications:
    • Safety or environmental management experience, preferably within agriculture industry preferred.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Engineering, Animal Science or an equivalent combination of related experience and education.
    • General knowledge of OSHA standards.
    • Program, planning and evaluation techniques.
    • Strong written, verbal and computer skills are essential.
    • Outstanding communication skills in order to leadandengageemployees.
    • Must follow current bio security protocols
