We protect those who operate, maintain, and upgrade infrastructure in the energy, broadband, and transportation sectors and provide traffic control for major events like the Boston Marathon.Since our founding in 1981, we have served customers through the talent of extraordinary team members committed to customer focus, growth, valuing each other, safety and quality, and a sense of urgency.Job DescriptionPosition Summary:This position is responsible to provide day to day EHS support to the facility locations and operating teams within the designated region.  Support includes coaching, teaching and training field personnel on safe operating behaviors and the design, development, and implementation of safety and risk control programs.  Functions as a subject matter expert and consultant to help internal clients build sustainable loss improvement processes within their operating organizations that they will own and operate.Primary ResponsibilitiesProvide daily and continuous safety support to their designated region.Conduct compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support AWP EHS Management.Provide daily guidance and direction in EHS programs to the field level, facility leadership level, and regional leadership to ensure a common and effective approach.Maintain, audit, and update as needed AWP - SOPs for all safe work practices and equipment and utilize them in the day-to-day training.Coach, train, guide, and mentor the regional employees through the AWP Safety Management System.Review accidents/incidents which occur in the area of responsibility and conduct field audits, reporting and managing the correction actions.Participate in and support detailed incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis.Assist in the development and presentation of relevant EHS training.Ability to work with employees and leadership to achieve cultural change in the face of potential resistance.Travel to branch locations and jobsites as required and perform any additional duties as needed.Field Specific ResponsibilitiesVisit and walk the jobsites on a regular basis to establish EHS presence and provide support.Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly EHS Meetings/Trainings and schedule as needed.Perform field safety observations during each visit.Ability to evaluate PPE and ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE.Conduct critical behavior-based safety observations as needed.Perform additional duties as assigned by the Business Unit EHS Director.Oversight and Implementation of Day-to-Day field operations.Work with the branch leadership and field teams to ensure work practices are understood and followed.Coordinate Business Unit, Region, Branch level safety activities.Conduct EHS audits and assessments of on-going operations to measure compliance with regulatory requirements and conformance to AWP company policies and procedures.Plans, administers, and manages AWP safety policies, programs, procedures, and systems for assigned region.Serves as the single point of contact for Region and Branch leadership in area of responsibility.Ensures EHS policies, procedures, programs, and systems are trained and available to the employees.Key Performance Indicator MetricsThis position will be responsible to influence the following performance metrics:EHS Management System Facility Action PlansRegion EHS Training Compliance: >95%OSHA Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR): <10%OSHA Days Away Restricted and Transfer Cases (DART)Incident Investigation and Root Cause AnalysisIndividual Development Plan and StatusWeekly Branch Location Visit Summary Completion: 8/week – 32/month – 384/yearNotification of Injury / Incident / Motor Vehicle CollisionDriver Qualification Files and Compliance: >95%Responsible Vehicle Accident RateQualificationsEducation and Experience5-8 years of EHS work experience, experience in CA and working in field-based organizations in related industry strongly preferredBachelor's degree in EHS or any applicable field; Master’s degree preferred; EHS certification a plusProficient skills in Microsoft Office software applications, software management systems, and EHS management systems and reporting platformsDemonstrated experience in successfully partnering with operations leadership in field including fostering a proactive safety culture, consistent and effective communication, training and development, investigations, and timely resolution and escalation of safety concernsSufficient knowledge of various EHS subject matter areas and industry best practices and related investigative and problem-solving toolsAdditional InformationBase Salary Range: $100K -120K AIP BonusPosition covers locations in Northern California and Washington, preferred location is Sacramento, CA or San Jose, or San Fransicso CA, but can be located in most major cities in Northern California.All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.Traffic Solutions Corp., d.b.a.
