Job Responsibilities:

• Works without risk or harm to self or others
• Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures.
• Safely operate both on and off-road vehicles.
• Properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
• Recognize, control, and communicate safety or environmental hazards.

Requirements:

• Field Mapping
• Data collection and downloading
• Ability to walk/hike up, down, and over rough, high terrain
• Ability to lift and carry 50-75 lbs. throughout the day
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
• Working knowledge and skill using personal computers
• Experience reading maps, using a GPS, and driving off-road is preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Geology required
• Requires a valid driver's license
• Surface MSHA, required
• Must be willing to do physically demanding labor as well as have a desire to work in the field and be able to learn and follow scientific methods
• Passport is a plus
