    JOB SUMMARY

    This position is responsible for handling financial reporting, including preparation and analysis of financial information for senior management and the Board of Directors. In addition, this role provides accounting support for group projects relating to business planning, mergers and acquisitions.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Prepare Monthly Board Reports and Other Reports (50%)

    • Prepares monthly and quarterly board reports as assigned, accurately and on time.
    • Reconciles reports as needed, including identifying, researching and communicating unusual items.
    • Handles loan origination/sales reconciliation for SNB Mortgage
    • Reconciles First Horizon client analysis statement monthly
    • Provides P&L reporting for business units, including identifying, researching and communicating unusual items.
    • Provides enhanced reporting to other business units.
    • Recommends enhancements to reporting.

     

    Primary Accountability for All Aspects of Bond Accounting System (25%)

    • Timely and accurate input interest and principal payments.
    • Maintains investment portfolio using Bond Accounting System module on Fiserv and reconcile balances to FMS.
    • Maintains documentation for securities.
    • Timely and accurate input of transactions on TMS.
    • Timely and accurate updates of market values daily using 3rd party information.
    • Updates and reconciles 3rd party reports on a monthly basis.
    • Provides information for Forvis and OCC as needed.
    • Coordinates annual reports and municipal bond reviews.
    • Timely and accurate input for new securities purchased and sold.

     

    Support SNBonus Program (10%)

    • Handles monthly input, including review for reasonableness and accuracy.
    • Assists with stakeholder payouts.
    • Collects annual data used for building models
    • Prepares information for quarterly reviews with lenders
    • Prepares monthly scorecards for business bankers.

     

    Manage ProfitStar Program for Liquidity Purposes (5%)

    • Updates and maintains financial information in ProfitStar monthly.  
    • Generates reports from ProfitStar as needed for senior management and the board.  Identifies, researches and communicates unusual items.
    • Monitors results against projections and analyze reasons for variances.  Provides monthly variance reports to senior management and the board of directors.

     

    Backup Accounts Payable (5%)

    • Assists with coding of invoices and data input
    • Conducts research (internal and external) on vendor invoices
    • Maintains accurate records for Nebraska Sales Tax refunds.
    • Assists paying bills twice per month
    • Assists filing and maintaining accounts payable
    • Serves as senior resource for payables questions.

     

    Other Duties as Assigned – Includes Identifying, Researching, and Communication Anything Unusual Relative to the Items Below (5%)

    • Prepares annual FAS 91 calculation for external auditors
    • Assists with completion of insurance applications for bond and P&C
    • Provides support for rest of team as needed
    • Conducts additional research as needed, including identifying, researching, and communicating unusual items.
    • Provides training to others as needed
    • Assists with special projects as requested
    • Writes and runs Viewpoint reports as requested by accounting team members as well as other business units.
    • Reviews reconcilements and assist with audits

     

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Strong knowledge and understanding of GAAP and/or statutory accounting and reporting
    • Proficient knowledge and understanding with accounts Payable Software, Bond Accounting Software, and ProfitStar Software.
    • Capable of effectively analyzing data to identify and solve problems/issues
    • Ability to complete multiple tasks within the first week each month
    • Ability to create advanced level MS Excel reports that include complex formulas and charts.
    • Expert-level skills in MS Word or other spreadsheet and word processing software.
    • Good organizational, prioritization, detail-oriented and perceptive analytical skills.
    • Strong written and verbal presentation skills.
    • Excellent time management skills and be accustomed to meeting deadlines.
    • Ability to complete required compliance training by assigned due date.
    • Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance.

     

    EDUCATION* 

    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in accounting, business, or finance required

     

    EXPERIENCE*

    • Minimum of 4-5 years related accounting and/or financial reporting experience required; working with bank financial statements a plus.

    *Equivalent education and experience will be considered
