RESOURCE EXCHANGE DRIVER

Located in Newburgh, NY

The Resource Exchange Driver is responsible for the planning and logistics coordination related to the pick-up, delivery, and distribution of donations of gently used furniture, household items, and necessities of life, including hygiene items, food, and clothing to persons in our community in dire need.  

JOB TYPE: Full time PAY: $20.00 per hour plus generous benefits package, PTO and more Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00AM to 5:00PM (with the possibility of occasional later end time or weekends)

MUST HAVES

Education>

·        HS Diploma or GED

·        Associate Degree a plus

Requirements>

• Proficient with Micro-Soft Word application (specifically Excel is a plus)

• Ability to demonstrate empathy and compassion while working with vulnerable clients.

• Some public speaking and writing in an employment setting and the ability to work as part of a team.

• Clean driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Some Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Serves as liaison to individuals and community partners to accept Furniture donations and coordinate the distribution of those items.

2. Manages all food related activities. These activities include pick up of food bank orders, supermarket orders, and distribution of food to clients in our community.

3. Maintains and create spreadsheet for food distributions, Adopt-A-Family, furniture inventory, and Giving Tree (Christmas Program)

4. Organizes mass food-related distributions for Orange County locations.

5. Coordinates all aspects of key Resource Exchange donation activities throughout the year. These programs are Stuff-the-Bus (June and November), Adopt-A-Family and Giving Tree (Christmas), Back-to-School Supply drives (August).

6. Coordinates pick-up and distribution of donations.

7. Ensures contact information of donors and particulars of donation are provided to Advancement Office for inclusion on donation log and necessary donor acknowledgement.

8. Provides great customer service with the ability to manage difficult personalities.

9. Other duties as assigned.
