Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Geology Manager to be based in either our West Palm Beach, Ft Lauderdale, or Orlando FL office. This position will support our Remediation team within our Environment business line. This position is expected to begin immediately. The selected individual must be local and have the ability to work on-site in West Palm Beach, Ft Lauderdale, or Orlando. Experience with Local Agencies is a plus.
The Geology Manager will serve as a team member in the office and the field, assisting project and program management with design and implementation of soil, groundwater, sediment and surface water investigative and remediation programs, data analysis, and report preparation.
This position will also assist in the performance of regulatory compliance inspections, sampling, and reporting associated with the implementation of permit and/or regulator requirements for commercial/industrial facilities.
The job responsibilities for the position will include, but are not limited to:
Performs various management, leadership, and people accountability responsibilities for a specific technical group or department.
Has full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating technical assignments.
Generally requires multi-disciplinary knowledge of science.
Plans and develops scientific tasks concerned with unique or controversial problems. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation and development of novel concepts and approaches.
Maintains liaison with units within the organization and individuals inside and outside of the organization.
Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the field. Work at this level usually requires extensive progressive experience.
Works under minimal supervision. Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.
Manages group of scientists and/or technicians, coordinating activities of the unit.
Responsible for project and program management to include guidance to subordinate managers, enforcement of company and project policies, and acts as a primary liaison between AECOM and client.
Oversees and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors.
Responsible for administering the project from budgeting/schedule stage through procurement and contract closeout. Position has significant profit/loss responsibility for assigned project.
