    To support our upcoming backlog of work, AGES is recruiting to hire full-time a Microsoft Office Specialist/Quality Assurance Expert in our office in Columbus, OH. As a Microsoft Office Specialist, you will be responsible for creating, formatting, and editing documents with precision and efficiency. As a Quality Assurance Expert, you will be responsible for adhering to specific checklists required by our client to ensure excellent document quality assurance. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring that our documents are of the highest quality and adhere to company standards. You will collaborate with colleagues to produce documents that effectively communicate to internal and external stakeholders. This critical clerical full-time position will report to the Quality Assurance Program Manager.

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Create and format documents, including reports, tables, and correspondence, using advanced features of Microsoft Word following specified style guides.
    • Successfully complete quality assurance checklists for extensive technical reports within tight timelines.
    • Edit and proofread documents to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to company guidelines/styles guides.
    • Proficient understanding of Microsoft styles, and the ability to create edit old and create new styles.
    • Collaborate with team members to understand document requirements and provide support in document creation and formatting.
    • Manage deliverables efficiently so tasks are completed on time and problems are anticipated and resolved quickly.
    • Develop templates and update style guides to standardize document formats and improve efficiency.
    • Train and mentor colleagues on best practices for document creation, formatting, and Microsoft Word usage with the eventual responsibility of taking a leadership role in the QA process.
    • Stay updated on the latest features and updates in Microsoft Word and provide recommendations for process improvements.

    Qualifications (Education and Experience):

    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
    • Five years of experience operating Microsoft Office products, including three years of technical formatting experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education.
    • Proven expertise in Microsoft Word with advanced knowledge of formatting, styles, templates, and document management.
    • Demonstrated expertise working with technical documents and style manuals.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously and work within tight timelines.
    • Proficient in other Microsoft products such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as Adobe Acrobat.
    • Excellent proficiency in grammar, punctuation, and spelling, with exceptional attention to detail.
    • Effective oral and written communication, interpersonal, analytical skills, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
    • Experience in training or mentoring others in Microsoft Word usage is preferred.
    • Certification in Microsoft Word or related field is advantageous.
    • Environmental/Technical knowledge is a plus but not required.
