Top Government Affairs Executive (Federal Level) leads strategic planning and directs engagement objectives to develop and maintain productive relations with all levels of government authorities that will support and enhance the businesses' goals. Develops plans, policies, and teams to build relationships and liaise with government entities (federal, state, provincial, or local) that regulate or influence business activities. Being a Top Government Affairs Executive (Federal Level) directs ongoing monitoring and analysis of proposed legislation, emerging issues, and trends to determine the potential impact on the organization. Collaborates with industry groups and organizations with complementary objectives to achieve objectives. Additionally, Top Government Affairs Executive (Federal Level) creates communication vehicles and delivers messaging to inform and support business leaders. Requires a bachelor's degree in public policy, public administration, business or equivalent. Typically reports to top management. The Top Government Affairs Executive (Federal Level) manages a business unit, division, or corporate function with major organizational impact. Establishes overall direction and strategic initiatives for the given major function or line of business.   • Job Summary:
    The Work Study’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing general office/departmental support, such as those tasks listed below, and assisting the team with any other related duties, as assigned. LIT supports the academic success of its Work Study employees, so the work schedule will accommodate the individual’s school schedule while meeting business needs and while providing an opportunity to gain experience in the work environment, within the Work Study’s degree program of choice.

    Duties/Responsibilities:
    • Filing, making copies, faxing, shredding and scanning
    • Data entry
    • Document creation and/or maintenance, using programs such as Word and Excel
    • Assisting with student events


    Physical Requirements:
    This position requires the ability to: remain in a stationary position for most of the time; occasionally move about inside an office to access documents, office equipment, etc.; constantly operate a computer or other office equipment, such as a printer or copy machine; and occasionally move boxes/product weighing up to 50 pounds across the office/student event spaces.
    Minimum Qualifications
    • Must be a currently enrolled student of Lamar Institute of Technology (minimum of 6 semester credit hours) and receiving Federal financial aid and in good academic standing
    • Comfortable with performing work independently and with minimal supervision
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Knowledge with Microsoft Word and Excel, and other commonly-used computer programs and applications
    • Familiar with using copier, scanner, fax, and computer
    • Able to work in an office environment between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday and work occasional evenings or Saturdays for student events; Total hours worked per week may not exceed 19.75 hours per week
