ROLE SUMMARY
The Medical Device Field Service Technician is a field-based position responsible for on-site service, repair, or troubleshooting of Retinal Scanning Laser Ophthalmoscopes (SLOs).
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install, repair, perform preventive maintenance, and retrofit instrument products.
- Support customers on the operational aspects of the instrument, equipment, and software.
- Complete and submit all Regulatory and company required documentation.
- Provide remote diagnosis/repair support when needed.
- Become proficient in UltraWidefield Retinal Imaging with skillsets in OCT and Fiber Optic technology.
- Maintain inventory accountability for all parts, tools, and calibrated equipment.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical education gained through work experiences.
- Previous field service engineer experience in the medical device industry.
- Self-motivated individual with strong desire to exceed personal and company goals.
- Strong team player with flexible attitude to work priorities.
- Ability to manage expenses, travel arrangements and customer management
- PC, server, and network integration experience.
- Skilled in instrument operation, maintenance, and repair procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent Customer Service skills
- Computer skills (MS Office applications), basic networking knowledge & ability to perform virtual communication tasks.
- Be able to lift/carry 60 lbs.
- Ability to travel overnight – up to 80% (some weekend travel).
- Clean and safe driving record
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am-6pm
Travel: 50% travel required for this position
