Job Description
Oversees the clinical education of staff hospital-wide which requires a thorough knowledge of clinical practice, principles of adult learning, policies and procedures and regulatory requirements. Responsible for the translation of research into evidence based practice for nursing staff. Provides strategically aligned education/training to achieve outcomes consistent with Lower Keys Medical Center’s strategic goals, regulatory compliance and deployment of information technology and clinical transformation education inclusive of assessment, implementation and evaluations of training effectiveness.
Under the supervision of the director of nursing education, oversees the orientation and onboarding process of Provides services related to the recruitment, orientation, continuing education, and support functions for all patient care employees. Will monitor, track, and update all certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC and NRP.
Coordinator will prepare all materials for orientation.
Participates in the development, coordination, and delivery of specialty program orientation, competency evaluation, and seminar presentations
Coordinator will assist with courses and become an instructor for BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC.
Coordinator will be responsible for stroke/chest pain education.
Facilitates schools of nursing preceptorship and clinical group placement through positive relationships with nursing instructors, deans, and directors.
Coordinator will be responsible for completing any affiliation agreements with schools of nursing.
Will provide community education presentations and organize health fairs related to chest pain and stroke programs.
Coordinator will assist director of education for planning and implementation of 450 employee annual skills fair.
Serves as liaison to device and patient care equipment vendors in the education and in-servicing of patient care staff.
Primary educator and oversight for the electronic medication administration system (MEDHOST) during orientation and on an ad hoc basis.
Assists in the development and maintenance of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the regulatory bodies.
Position will assist with implementation of new graduate residency program.
On call to the RN staff as needed for consultation & problem solving.
Audit bedside shift reports and implement bedside shift report labs for new employees.
Primary administrator of the advanced learning center and assignment of modules as needed by regulatory requirements and as requested by directors.
Will complete all chart audits, approximately 50 per month, for the chest pain Center.
Organizes hospitals drills and collaborates with medical providers in the planning, implementation, and delivery of educational curricula; including attending MEC meetings as necessary.
Prepares schedules and other documentation as designated by the director, liaising with other faculty and administrators as directed;
Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of accreditation processes, governing body responsibilities and overall operation of the institution;
Other duties as needed / assigned by the Director and/or his/her designee to maintain efficient and effective daily operations
