Position Overview
The
Assistant Director of International Marketing is responsible for all aspects of developing and successfully executing a marketing and recruitment plan to achieve the College's goal of enrolling international students in collaboration with other International Programs staff and according to objectives established by the college and/or the Director of International Programs (IP). International Programs is in charge of international student recruitment, admission, orientation, academic/transfer advising, immigration advising for F-1 visa and status maintenance, study abroad, and student engagement. The Assistant Director is required to travel overseas 35-65% of the time. This position reports to the Director of International Programs.

Position Salary: $71,000 annually, including 5% King County Premium
Supervising Position: Director of International Programs
Essential Duties
- Recruit international students overseas by executing the International Programs' marketing and recruitment plan in collaboration with other College staff and faculty.
- Travel regularly (35-65% of the time) to develop and maintain relationships with prospective students, student recruitment agencies, educational institutions, and organizations overseas.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify target markets for international student recruitment; Assist in the development and refinement of a comprehensive marketing and recruitment plan based on data driven analysis.
- Assist in the development of an array of local outreach activities to market to international students in the Northwest, undertake those outreach activities.
- Conduct and support outreach activities and cultivate relationships and opportunities with prospective collaborators, vendors, and partners who are in the business of recruiting international students and/or supporting services to international student communities.
- Assist in the design and delivery of an agent orientation and training program to include information on basic immigration regulations, US educational system, campus resources and cultural issues.
- Manage quarterly and annual agent commission report and facilitate the payment and communication with agents and College's Finance office.
- Collect inquiries and leads for assigned markets; Engage with prospective students on customer relationship management (CRM) system to stay connected, streamline admission process, and improve matriculation of student; Manage and maintain the CRM system.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of communications materials to clearly and compellingly communicate program and admissions information to students, families, agents, educational institutions. Communications materials include, but are not limited to, paper and electronic brochures, e-mails, web pages and video.
- Initiate and maintain online social media presence of International Programs, including management of student staff.
- Public speaking using self-developed presentations to culturally and linguistically diverse audiences.
- Coordinate with other departments and external agencies to ensure consistent application of federal, state, and college policies, procedures and regulations, and provides support to the Director as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university AND 2 years of experience working with international student recruitment OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Experience in marketing or recruitment as a representative of an educational service organization, or similar experience
- Experience negotiating business agreements
- Experience and demonstrated ability to work with culturally and linguistically diverse clients
- Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion and the ability to support a diverse workplace and educational environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working or studying in another country
- Working knowledge of SEVIS and F-1 regulations.
- Higher education international student recruitment experience.
- Experience working with a Client Relationship Management (CRM) system
- Language proficiency in Mandarin Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Japanese, Portuguese or Spanish
Physical Work Environment
Semi-Sedentary Work: involves staying in a stationary position to a significant degree. Jobs are sedentary if moving is required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
The College is currently in hybrid work operations, with some assignments completed in an online environment during this time. While working remotely, employees must provide their own workspace and internet access, noting the College will provide technical equipment and support for online work needs. While working on campus, this position will perform work in a standard office setting, use standard office equipment and physically or digitally attend meetings both on and off campus, and requires the ability to communicate in person or through appropriate means. Ability to work weekends and evenings when appropriate or needed is required.
Positions in this class typically require operating a computer, communicating, observing, and repetitive motions.
Exerting between 10-30 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to transport, put, install, remove, or otherwise move objects.
