  • Manages and coordinates activities related to the facility’s (or multiple facilities) inventory. This includes both physical inventory processes and the management of inventory levels, turns, and return on investment by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Determines and implements “Best Practices” relating to cycle counts and physical inventories, purchasing and receiving procedures, manufacturing practices relating to Bill-of-Materials and WIP, and yard management as it relates to inventory control. • Determines and implements “A-B-C” method of inventory turn management by working in conjunction with proper purchasing procedures as defined by local operational management. • Works with local managers to identify and resolve inventory control problems. • Works with the Corporate Inventory Management team to identify and develop new inventory items and categories as needed to streamline our SKU database. Monitor BOM items for cost and material accuracy. • Analyzes and reports the results of variances of general ledger to perpetual inventory values on each location of the group. • Determines and manages accruals for “at risk” inventory dollars. This would include identifying obsolete, dead, damaged, or otherwise non-performing inventory items. • Schedules, observes, and reports results for all physical inventories. • Resolves all A/P discrepancies between locations and vendors. Establishes vendor cost schedules to eliminate most discrepancies up front. • Keeps locations aware of item or price changes. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervises assigned employees including staff selection and training; planning, assigning and directing work; conducting performance reviews; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development.
