POSITION OVERVIEW

The Investor Engagement Manager is responsible for the day-to-day execution of strategies and tactics that recruit, welcome, serve, engage, orient, develop, and renew investors of the Greenville Chamber. 

In collaboration with the VP, Investor Development & Engagement, this position is responsible for implementing investor value initiatives and communicating the value of being an investor through various investor relation strategies that increase overall investor retention and dues investment.  Direct contact with investors is required through one-on-one discussions and calls which ultimately results in the engagement and retention of investors, as well as the positioning of investors as volunteers within the organization.

This position is responsible for helping to retain, engage, and grow the participation in the Chamber’s affinity programs, increasing investments from existing investor firms through upgrades and acquisition of new investors. Strong ability to monitor and track process through the Chamber’s database is essential.

 The Investor Engagement Manager must function as an integral part of the Greenville Chamber of Commerce (GCC) team and continually work together and with other staff and volunteers to contribute to the advancement of the GCC and its mission.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Execute strategies for investor value initiatives, including investor engagement and value-add programs.
• Communicate with all levels of business leaders, and meet personally with investors as needed, to ensure they are choosing appropriate engagement roles for their desired goals.
• Coordinate and manage the Chamber’s call for engagement through the online investor engagement portal.
• Ensure investors are aware of and use the event credits provided in tiered benefit packages.
  
• The retention of existing investors. This is to be completed through a variety of avenues and requires a very proactive approach to customer service.
• Ensure financial performance of investor development initiatives and affinity programs to meet or exceed budget goals.
• Implements an individual sales strategy to generate prospects and convert to Chamber investors.
• Implements an account management strategy to generate revenue from current and future Chamber members.
• Achieves budgeted monthly and annual investment and retention revenue goals.
• In-person visits and calls with investors to meet set expectations.
• Make direct calls as assigned to secure investor’s commitment to renewal and follow-up calls as needed on receivables.
• Ensure appropriate tracking and recording of contact activity through the Chamber’s investor database, and report preparation to track activity.
• Maintain awareness of the Chamber’s current initiatives in order to leverage the work for investor engagement opportunities.
• Assist the Vice President, Investor Development in promoting and generating increased participation from investors in the Chamber’s affinity programs to meet or exceed budget goals.
• Presents a professional image of self and the organization to members, staff, and vendors concerning the Chamber, its mission, its values, and activities.
• Assures effective communication with the Chamber’s investors, staff, and external stakeholders.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with Chamber investors, management team, and staff.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Two years’ experience in sales and customer service.
• Database/computer proficiency required.

COMPETENCIES

Proven and documented demonstration of the following:

• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Excellent organizational and people skills.
• Proficient user knowledge of computer operation and systems, specifically including MS Office suite of products.
• Experience working with database programs and maintaining information preferred.
• Ability to plan and organize.
• Effective in dealing with different types of people.
• Knowledge of Chamber operations greatly preferred.
• Able to handle multiple tasks, while maintaining control and order.

Compensation commensurate with experience. This role also includes the opportunity to earn commissions and bonuses based on monthly sales & retention requirements.
