Establishes and approves operating policies and procedures to guide the design of projects. Being a Top Laboratory Executive estimates the time and resources needed to complete projects. Orders and inspects materials and equipment and maintains detailed and accurate inventory of lab supplies. Additionally, Top Laboratory Executive manages costs by maintaining vendor relationships and implementing process improvements. Typically responsible for acquiring funding. Requires a master's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Top Laboratory Executive manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. IEH Laboratories, a Leader in Food Safety, is now accepting applications for a Laboratory Analyst position at its facility in Bloomsburg, PA.
Ideal candidates will possess the following:
– A high school diploma or GED (required); an associate degree in Biology or related field (preferred)
– Proficiency with data entry and computer applications
– Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment
– Strong written and verbal communication skills
– Strong attention to detail
– Strong understanding of aseptic technique in the laboratory
Laboratory Analyst duties include analysis of food samples for pathogens via PCR and immunoassay, various microbe enumerations, data entry, laboratory reporting, quality control, media preparation, and other duties as assigned.
This is a full-time position and is eligible for standard benefits after a brief waiting period. The laboratory operates weekends, so candidates must be willing to work some weekends.
