Land Maintenance Area Manager

  • Position Summary

    The Landscape Maintenance Area Manager has operational and financial responsibility for a defined geographical region.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Ensures that all landscapes are properly staffed and manages the cost of labor for each location in region
    • Ensures quality workmanship across the region and works alongside the team as necessary
    • Supervises staff ensuring all start-up, shut-down, and safety protocols are followed and provides training and development for staff
    • Communicates with clients on a regular basis
    • Works alongside the Division Manager to set and achieve targets to maximize sales and profitability in the region
    • Completes a wide array of administrative tasks regularly such as approving employee time cards, sending emails, completing reports, hiring staff, and using company software platform (Aspire) as required
    • Reports to Division Manager and other leaders on progress and issues
    • Completes other duties as assigned

    Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

    • High school diploma
    • 5 years working in the landscaping industry and leading a team
    • Willingness and ability to travel between 50 to 75 percent of the time
    • Ability to balance on-the-field work along with administrative duties
    • Ability to effectively train, communicate with, coach, and develop employees
    • Ability to handle basic employee performance, behavior, conduct, and attendance issues
    • Experience with office software platforms, Aspire preferred
    • Understanding of basic financial principles

    • PPE and uniform requirements followed in region
    • Quality of workmanship across assigned region
    • Cost of labor—work performed within budget hours
