Top Legal Executive plans and directs all aspects of an organization's legal affairs. Ensures all business policies and activities are managed correctly and in compliance with current laws. Being a Top Legal Executive provides strategic guidance on legal issues, manages compliance and risk mitigation, reviews contracts, and handles other legal duties to protect the organization's interests. Uses a broad range of legal expertise and current knowledge to advise leadership on any regulatory changes or actions that may impact the business. Additionally, Top Legal Executive assists or represents the organization in business negotiations. May assist in the defense of the organization in lawsuits and the prosecution of lawsuits on behalf of the organization. Requires a JD. Requires State Bar membership. Typically reports to Top Legal Executive. Responsible for the development of functional or business unit strategy for the entire organization. Our office has an opening for paralegals / legal document assistants to work at our office. This is full time position that offers competitive pay and benefits (medical/dental/vision/401K/paid time off/paid holidays).
Background as a paralegal (or legal document assistant) and experience in family law, wills, living trusts, or probate is desirable but not required. The position can be filled at entry, intermediate or advanced level. However, all applicants are encouraged to apply regardless of experience.
Desired qualifications:
- Education in Paralegal Studies - certificate in paralegal studies or higher is required
- Notary Public is desirable but not required
- Excellent Customer Service Skills
- Very Reliable and Trainable
- Serious and Responsible
- Good communication skills
- Experience in any of the areas of family law, wills, living trusts, and/or probate is desirable but not required
- Current notary public or willing to become a notary public
- Bilingual Spanish speaking is desirable.
