Top Legal Executive plans and directs all aspects of an organization's legal affairs. Ensures all business policies and activities are managed correctly and in compliance with current laws. Being a Top Legal Executive provides strategic guidance on legal issues, manages compliance and risk mitigation, reviews contracts, and handles other legal duties to protect the organization's interests. Uses a broad range of legal expertise and current knowledge to advise leadership on any regulatory changes or actions that may impact the business. Additionally, Top Legal Executive assists or represents the organization in business negotiations. May assist in the defense of the organization in lawsuits and the prosecution of lawsuits on behalf of the organization. Requires a JD. Requires State Bar membership. Typically reports to Top Legal Executive. Responsible for the development of functional or business unit strategy for the entire organization. Land of Lincoln Legal Aid seeks a motivated individual to join our team as a Full-Time Legal Assistant
for its Eastern Regional Office located in Champaign, Illinois. Our staff work with community
organizations, social service agencies, and faith-based groups to deliver holistic legal services. The
Eastern Regional office serves low income clients in Champaign, Clark, Coles, Crawford,
Cumberland, DeWitt, Douglas, Edgar, Effingham, Ford, Jasper, Macon, Moultrie, Piatt, and
Vermilion Counties.
Land of Lincoln Legal Aid provides free civil legal services to low-income individuals in 65 counties in
Illinois. We are committed to providing justice for those whose voices might otherwise not be heard;
to empower individuals to advocate for themselves; and to make positive changes in the communities
we serve.

Compensation:
$36,000 dependent on experience. Excellent insurance, retirement, and PTO
benefits. Land of Lincoln is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and is an eligible employer
for the federal public service loan forgiveness program.
