Top Litigation Executive oversees all litigation related to an organization and ensures maximum protection of the organization's legal rights. Acts as a liaison between outside attorneys and in-house staff. Being a Top Litigation Executive directs cases through litigation cycle, reviews new files for coverage and liability issues, and develops a cost effective defense strategy. Consults with senior management to resolve issues and decide settlements. Additionally, Top Litigation Executive requires a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Requires admittance to a state bar. Typically reports to top management. The Top Litigation Executive manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Top Litigation Executive typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Position Summary:

    Bituminous Roadways, Inc. (BR) is a growing, award-winning, and established union highway/heavy contractor looking for a Utility Top Person to join our team. A Utility Top Person is responsible for cutting and preparing pipes and fittings for installation.  

    Our main office is located in Mendota Heights, MN. BR also has plant locations in Inver Grove Heights, Shakopee, Columbus, and Minneapolis.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Reasonable accommodations made be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

    • Shoveling and staking
    • Plan reading
    • Laser setup
    • Ensuring proper pipe installation
    • Assembling valves and other parts to be lowered into the excavation
    • Rigging of pipe sections to be lowered into the trench
    • Maintaining water pumps 
    • Observing the excavation for safety hazards and concerns
    • Must have the ability to hear, speak and follow directions carefully.
    • Continually required to reach, pull, carry, grab, pull, and lift.
    • Must possess be able to work in all types of weather conditions.
    • Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly on a daily basis

    Preferred Experience/Education:

    • High school education and/or GED equivalent 
    • At least 2 years of relevant experience is preferred
    • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision
    • Know and understand grades and slopes
    • Excavation and trench safety
    • Confined space safety
    • Experience using basic hand and power tools
    • Strong communication skills
    • Punctual and dependable
    • Ability to work overtime as needed is required
