Top Litigation Executive oversees all litigation related to an organization and ensures maximum protection of the organization's legal rights. Acts as a liaison between outside attorneys and in-house staff. Being a Top Litigation Executive directs cases through litigation cycle, reviews new files for coverage and liability issues, and develops a cost effective defense strategy. Consults with senior management to resolve issues and decide settlements. Additionally, Top Litigation Executive requires a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Requires admittance to a state bar. Typically reports to top management. The Top Litigation Executive manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Smith Haughey is looking for an Associate Attorney to join our Litigation team in our Muskegon, MI office. The associate attorney should have one to three years of experience. Qualified candidates must have experience in litigation, motions and depositions, excellent research and writing skills, and a commitment to excellence. Experience in business transactions and real estate matters is a plus.
