Top Litigation Executive oversees all litigation related to an organization and ensures maximum protection of the organization's legal rights. Acts as a liaison between outside attorneys and in-house staff. Being a Top Litigation Executive directs cases through litigation cycle, reviews new files for coverage and liability issues, and develops a cost effective defense strategy. Consults with senior management to resolve issues and decide settlements. Additionally, Top Litigation Executive requires a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Requires admittance to a state bar. Typically reports to top management. The Top Litigation Executive manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Top Litigation Executive typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Ideally, candidates will have hands-on litigation experience and will want to gain further
responsibility and experience in the following areas: handling discovery and litigation discovery disputes, taking and defending depositions, conducting witness interviews, drafting and arguing pleadings and motions, and managing cases on a day-to-day basis. Excellent legal writing and research skills are required.

- Strong legal research and analytical skills
- Ability to be a self-starter who is eager and curious to learn new topic areas quickly and can work independently as well as be part of a collaborative team
- Effective and efficient problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to work proactively to develop creative solutions in order to meet client and team needs
- Enthusiasm for working in a team environment
- Bar membership in good standing in the jurisdiction in which you plan to practice
