Position: Facilities Maintenance Generalist

Supervised by: Facilities Director

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

Healthcare Facility Maintenance & Upkeep:

● Diagnose situation, identify a course of action, prepare and complete task, and clean-up work

area in a courteous and timely manner. Leave surrounding area in better condition than before.

● Commercial facilities maintenance, repair and replacement includes: painting, patching, minor

toilet repair, minor electrical work, lightbulb replacement, furniture assembly/repair, key and locks,

door hardware, replacing carpet and ceiling tiles, and other duties.

● Ability to learn and become proficient in functions required to repair and maintain equipment.

● Operates and uses required tools and equipment skillfully and safely.

● Cross-trained in all job functions and duties to collaborate with a variety of teams at any CMCF

location.

● Creates a positive experience for CMCF staff and patients by effectively and efficiently performing

job tasks; presents a positive image of CMCF in attitude, communications, language, and

appearance while performing duties in public and staff areas.

● Interacts with vendors such as construction teams, facility inspectors, maintenance vendors for

medical equipment

Manual Labor:

● Working indoors and outdoors completing large scale tasks in a variety of weather conditions.

● Manual labor duties include moving furniture, moving and hauling supplies, landscape work,

exterior building repair, painting, and other duties.

Technical Performance Accountabilities:

● Must have the ability to learn and become proficient in skills, functions and technologies required

to perform job duties, working effectively independently or cooperatively as part of a team,

maintaining effective working relationships to complete assigned tasks and accomplish job

responsibilities.

● Clearly communicate status and progress on assigned projects and tasks.

● At all times, utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by industry

safety standards.

● Responds to facility emergencies in a timely manner; Participates in CMCF Facilities

Department's "On-Call" rotation for emergencies and alarms.

● Computer skills include ability to log and update work in an online spreadsheet.

● Performs other work duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Experience and Qualifications:

● Read, write and speak English required.

● High School graduate preferred.

● Basic skills in facility issues including construction, electrical, and plumbing required

● Valid Alabama Driver's License, good driving record and reliable SUV or pickup truck to travel

and transport materials and equipment to and CMCF location.

● A combination of experience and education will be considered.

Physical Requirements and schedule:

● Access and transport materials up to 50 pounds.

● Must have the physical ability, stamina, mobility and manual dexterity to support a 6-day a week

business operation. Participate at various locations and at varied times throughout the day;

after-hours and weekend work may be frequently required to facilitate uninterrupted healthcare

operations during business hours.
