Who we are looking for

Cutting Dynamics is looking for a new Composite Manufacturing Engineer in response to recent growth in the company. You will support lean thinking and application of lean principals in manufacturing. You will work within a team environment, committed to achieving team and individual success.

What you will get to do

• Review and interpret customer data (drawings, models, tooling, specifications, etc.) and develop accurate manufacturing models and drawings for release into production.
• Conduct review of planned production routing and provide guidance to production planning based on interpretation of customer requirements and/or specifications prior to release.
• Handle and resolve technical issues with assigned projects directly with customer or through CDI customer representatives as appropriate.
• Work with Engineering Supervisor to help establish department best practices.
• Design, development, and physical prototyping of any required tooling, fixtures, or inspection gauges vital to manufacture the parts.
• Develop tooling designs and conduct prototype trials prior to production launch.
• Create models and drawings for manufacturing processes.
• Review / edit routing and system data as part of engineering review process.
• Work with department leads to troubleshoot processes for quality and efficiency.

What you bring to the team

• 4-year engineering or technology degree from accredited university
• 5 years of engineering experience.
• 5 years of solid modeling experience. SolidWorks experience preferred.
• Must be able to read, understand, & apply technical specifications.
• Must have working knowledge of GD&T, and how it applies to real world inspection techniques.
• Experience with Aerospace grade plastics(PEKK, PEEK, PPS) preferred.
• Stamp forming experience is highly desired.
• Non-destructive testing of materials is highly desired.
• Experience with simulation software is preferred.
