POSITION SUMMARY
The Gerencser lab at the Buck Institute is looking for a Research Associate to perform experiments and support the lab as an integral team member. The lab uses cell biology, advanced microscopy, and single-cell gene expression techniques to address fundamental questions about mitochondrial function in health and aging. A current focus is the regulation of mitochondrial function in pancreatic β-cells in human type 2 diabetes.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
· BA/BS in Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or a related field (for RA I level) plus 2 years of relevant technical laboratory experience (for RA II level)
· Knowledge of and practical experience with basic biochemistry and cell biology
· Cell culture experience

· Works well with other scientists under general supervision and independently
