Under the direction of supervision perform a variety of duties within the Materials Distribution Department such as but not limited to; checking and verifying, storing, sorting, laying out, packing and receiving goods using manual or electronic sorting methods.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Perform such duties as: checking data, completing reports, correspondence and forms; taking inventory checks; processing mail; maintaining files and records; receiving, recording and verifying information; filling in purchase requisitions and typing bills of lading. Perform other related clerical duties as necessary in the performance of the job.
2. Sort, store, and/or layout incoming orders so that goods will be shipped by the proper method as predetermined by supervision. Check and verify all goods against shipping forms for proper weights and quantities. Secure finished goods found to be short or after end of shift by notifying supervision; or by making personal contact with the departments involved.
3. Verify counts and work orders from vendor deliveries. Weigh and/or count parts as required. Record transactions and required information and forward to the proper destinations. Prepare and print rework orders and process non-confirming material reports as required.
4. Using available equipment move work as necessary in the performance of the jobs.
5. Distribute records and reports to other departments. Pick up clerical supplies. Answer telephones and relay messages as necessary.
6. Report any unusual or non-compliance transactions to supervision.
7. Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Education Requirements, Skills and Abilities:
1. Job requires the knowledge of factory and office clerical procedures to assure a proper flow of paperwork. Duties do not include the handling of confidential correspondence.
2. Use data entry and barcode scanning equipment, Typewriter, CRT, calculator, copy machine, scales and other available equipment in the performance of the job. Make arithmetical calculations as required.
3. Be knowledgeable of, and conform to, existing plant safety regulations.
4. Requires a high school or trade school diploma or equivalent manufacturing work experience.
