Planning Supervisor:
The Department of Community Development is seeking a Planning Supervisor to support the Director of Community Development and the Planning Manager by supervising a distinct group within the Planning Division, such current planning, long-range planning, or special projects as a group, serves as a key member of the Department' s Management Team, and continually improves the effectiveness and efficiency of the Department. Special projects within the Department includes the development of projects ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal land use statutes, regulations, mandates, or policies and projects improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the Department. Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor' s degree(" BA") in urban and regional planning; public administration; project management; or a closely related field from a four-year college or university and four( 4) years of progressively responsible experience in planning or public administration, including at least one ( 1) year as a Senior Planner or Project Manager including direct responsibility for performance of a project or individual subordinates; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A Master' s degree (" MA") in an appropriate field may be substituted for two( 2) years of experience. Knowledge and skills in land use planning principles, practices and techniques, development review, and other related knowledge including federal, state, and local laws, design standards, technical manuals associated with development review, the Washington Growth Management Act, Shoreline Management Act, and SEPA.
Hours & Compensation:
This is a full time Exempt salary position at MGR 18. Pay range is $5,594.33 to $7,769.06 in 2023, starting pay typically $5,594.33 per month, DOE. Full medical benefits, including dental and vision. Retirement provided through Washington State DRS. 12 days of vacation to start, 11 paid holidays, sick leave, and bereavement leave.
