Job Summary
MCRPC is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Executive Director. MCRPC is a unique joint county/municipal planning commission with a staff of 7 engaged in a current and active county comprehensive plan, community planning, zoning & subdivision, community development programs, and MPO transportation planning.
The current Executive Director will be leaving the position at the end of 2024. The MCRPC would like there to be an overlap of the position for one or two months to assist the new Executive Director. The overlap of the position will allow there to be a smooth transition between Directors. Therefor the position is anticipated to start in November/December of 2024.

Responsibilities
The Executive Director is responsible for organizational leadership, development of programs and work activities, preparation of the annual budget, supervise staff work activities, liaise and networking with key officials, governments, organizations, etc., promotion of the Commission & planning activities.
A strong background in Finance will be important to the position. The annual budget of the MCRPC is approximately $750,000 annually. The MCRPC is an independent County Planning Commission and employee’s do not work directly for the County, but the County is a member Municipality. This is an important distinction and therefor the new Director will need to maintain/grow membership when possible, maintain a strong understanding of the MPO Transportation functions. In addition, much of the work of the Commission is grant work such as the Federal CDBG program. The new Director should be familiar with CDBG administration, and grant administration in general.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in planning or related field plus 7 years planning experience, or bachelor’s degree in planning or related field plus 10 years planning experience, plus demonstrated experience in program development, administration and personnel management. Skills and experience preferred in community development program/project development, financing, and implementation or land use planning, zoning, and subdivision/land development.
