Sonja Cotton & Associates is currently seeking a dynamic and driven intellectual property patent attorney with 1-3 years of experience specializing in software and machine learning. The ideal candidate is an attorney registered with the USPTO-and with a background in artificial intelligence and machine software, and/or a degree in software engineering or prior experience, as well as a demonstrated ability to collaborate closely with inventors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting patent prosecution and drafting patent applications in the field of software and machine learning.
• Providing strategic counsel to inventors and clients regarding patent portfolio development and management.
• Collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary teams to assess patentability and infringement issues.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active bar membership in good standing.
• Registration with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
• Degree or previous experience in artificial intelligence and machine software preferred.
• Strong writing and communication skills, with an ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
