Summary: Responsible for assisting and managing the Patient Advocates in one location, completing intake appointments with new patients, and parenting classes with existing patients when volunteers are not present, and maintaining the flow of patient appointments for our Bainbridge office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise new volunteer in-house training and assign a “buddy” to shadow on their shift.
Update In-House Training Manuals, Patient Advocate job descriptions, Procedure Manuals for volunteers, referral resources for Patients, and Patient forms (PA forms), as needed.
Review charts daily to ensure correct documentation. Enter all documentation in the electronic chart. Follow up with patients within 7 days and then again at the end of their pregnancy to obtain birth information.
Recruit and retain trained volunteers. Follow-up with volunteers who display non-compliance and assist them to improve in a kind manner. Clearly and kindly communicate expectations to Patient Advocate volunteers. Be available to Patient Advocate volunteers for questions or any needed assistance.
Assist in answering phones, scheduling appointments, observing limited obstetric ultrasounds and
Complete monthly client services reports. Prepare and keep stocked all literature for pregnancy test patients.
Maintain the Moms and Babies room, sort donations, re-stock items from storage, and make the Patient Services Director or Executive Director aware of any needs.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises 3-6 volunteers. Responsibilities include interviewing and training volunteers; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Requirements/Experience
-Exhibit strong commitment and dedication to the pro-life position and sexual purity.
-Have one-year experience as a volunteer in some ministry capacity or paid ministry position.
-Be able to provide spiritual leadership, discipleship and support to employees and volunteers.
- Previous experience working with crisis pregnancies or in an OBGYN / Labor & Delivery setting is a plus, but not required.
- Knowledge of basic parenting skills and counseling techniques is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with patients of all ages, races and situations.
- Compassionate and empathetic nature, with a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and follow instructions from supervisor.
