**Position Overview:**
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as an HR, Payroll, and Accounting Specialist/Assistant. This multifaceted role involves managing payroll operations for three distinct companies, as well as providing essential support in HR functions such as onboarding, benefits administration, and addressing employee inquiries regarding various HR matters. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of payroll processing, accounting principles, and HR policies, along with excellent communication skills and a commitment to ensuring compliance with labor laws and tax regulations.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Payroll Management:**
- Process payroll accurately and timely for three separate companies.
- Calculate wages, deductions, and overtime in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Handle payroll inquiries and discrepancies with professionalism and efficiency.
2. **HR Support:**
- Assist with the onboarding process for new hires, including paperwork completion and orientation.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, 401(k), and PTO accruals.
- Address employee inquiries and concerns regarding benefits, PTO, holidays, and other HR-related matters.
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
3. **Accounting Assistance:**
- Support accounting functions related to payroll, such as journal entries, reconciliations, and expense tracking.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Assist with audits and compliance reviews as needed.
4. **Compliance and Regulations:**
- Stay current on federal, state, and local labor laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Ensure company policies and practices align with legal standards and industry best practices.
- Proactively identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and compliance.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience in payroll processing, HR administration, or accounting preferred.
- Knowledge of payroll software and HRIS systems; experience with Paychex, Paylocity or similar platforms preferred.
- Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and benefits administration.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
